Established in 2009, RESTECH was created to bridge the gap between university-led research and policy. Founded by Prof. Wellington Otieno and a team of academics, the center transforms research into actionable, evidence-based solutions for Africa's most pressing challenges.

We believe locally generated research is essential for Africa's development. Imported ideas often fail to address unique contexts or require costly adaptation. RESTECH provides a platform for multidisciplinary collaboration, ensuring resources are directed to high-impact, policy-relevant programs.
To be a center of excellence for multidisciplinary research, promoting the generation of knowledge and practical solutions to local problems.
To be a leading regional hub of knowledge in Africa
